2013 – a time to learn how to learn

Happy New Year.

There’s a been a whole host of predictions and surveys towards the end of 2012.  Each has looked at the future of training and development and sought to identify the next big thing or a series of little things joined together.  Well, it would be rude not to join in and so my latest blog looks at one aspect of the L&D industry in 2012 and asks for a slight change of focus in 2013.

My contention is that there is too little focus on actually getting people to use technology and yet budget and organisational resources are still being re-directed towards learning technologies that few seem to be using.  Certainly, where the achingly fashionable has been rolled out to learners, there seems to be something of a disconnect between the hope, the hype and the habits.
